|New VB12-RF is Industry’s First Portable OTT-ready IP Probe
OSLO, Norway —21 August, 2012
Bridge Technologies has announced the new VB12-RF — the industry’s first OTT-enabled portable broadcast-IP probe. The new VB12-RF’s OTT capabilities complete the roll-out of Bridge Technologies’ OTT solution across the company’s entire range of broadcast-IP probes.
The new VB12-RF is a compact, highly portable broadcast-IP monitoring and measurement appliance for IP, cable and OTT applications. Packing every required interface into an rigid extruded aluminum unit packed in a airtight and waterproof polycarbonate case, the VB12-RF features full TR101290 alarming and analysis, and support for all major transportation codecs.
With its new built-in OTT engine, the VB12-RF is far more practical, complete, and robust portable monitoring solution than traditional larger, heavier, and fragile PC-based alternatives. Operators can deploy the VB12-RF as an incredibly versatile resource in the engineer’s toolkit, suitable for diagnosing issues in any cable, IP or OTT delivery chain, at any location.
The VB12-RF requires no external equipment or power supplies, is easy to handle and robust enough with its new shock-proof transport enclosure to withstand severe physical shocks and harsh operating conditions.
“The original VB12-RF has been a fantastically successful tool for engineers on the road, and this new version takes the basic characteristics – form factor, convenience, versatility and robustness – and extends them in every direction,” said Simen Frostad, Chairman, Bridge Technologies. “It’s amazing that so many interfaces and capabilities can be packed into such a handy format to give operators a universal probe for almost any situation.”
Bridge Technologies’ OTT engine is now available in all the company’s probes, allowing operators to build an end-to-end OTT monitoring capability from ingest through all points in the delivery network, and all the way to the user’s viewing devices, when the Bridge Technologies microAnalytics™ system is deployed.
