NEWS/APPEAR TV and BRIDGE Technologies joint effort in network monitoring
(Oslo, Norway - 18.April´2006)
APPEAR TV products will from this date onwards be available for monitoring in BRIDGE Technologies VBC Server with all IP I/O devices including the highly successful DeCore DC1000 Multi Channel IRD with optional build in RF modulation. The DC1000 have been deployed in large scale IP to Cable projects all over Europe. The inclusion in the VBC Server together with BRIDGE Technologies IP-PROBES, gives operators the ability to follow media services from ingress to egress points in an IP delivery system for the first time.
"The ability to proactively follow a media stream from creation to delivery is critical for widespread IP transport network adoption," states Carl Walter Holst, CEO, Appear TV. "Together with BRIDGE Technologies we now have the technology to provide this to operators today, thereby minimizing service disruption and consequently reducing customer churn."
The VBC Server was first shown in 2005 and enables advanced correlation between different locations for easy understanding media flow and rapid trouble shooting. With a VBC Server deployment, monitoring of all devices in a media chain is now possible together with advanced relative measurement. Together with the MDI Media Window (pat.-pending) the VBC Server gives easy access to both real-time data and historical occurrences, and provides network-centric understanding of media flow with easy pinpointing of errors for fast trouble shooting in operational networks.
"Cooperation with Appear TV has been very rewarding," BRIDGE Technology President, Simen K. Frostad openly admits. "They display a thorough understanding of the importance for continuous monitoring of IP network behavior. The implementation of the DeCore series into the VBC architecture has been swift. We have great expectations for this joint effort towards standardization."
