NEWS/BRIDGE Technologies to release FSM framework at IBC2006
(Amsterdam, The Nederlands - 7th September´2006)
With the release of FSM, Full Service Monitoring technology in the BRIDGETECH, award winning IP-PROBES, full surveillance in real time of all services needed to access, use and watch IPTV can now be monitored in one system.
FSM is a complete framework for monitoring all aspects of a IP based service. With the introduction of monitoring of middleware, critical services like data-multicasts for SetTop box software loading, initial HTTP user interface services, DHCP and DNS services, DVB-C /DVB-T and other critical components can be monitored throughout the network, and changes in network configuration settings influencing these services will trigger notifications and alarms.
The first Middleware integrated with the FSM framework in the IP-PROBES is NORDIJAs FokusOn. Deployed in large telco systems throughout Europe, the NORDIJA software serves over 200.000 customers daily throughout Scandinavia. With the release of FSM, monitoring is extended to the middleware services needed to boot and to operate the SetTop boxes at the client premises. Because of this, cost of deployment is further reduced and use of the IP-PROBES for both monitoring and fault finding is greatly enhanced.
"With a highly complex service like IPTV, FSM will be crucial for detecting and correcting changes in the network, possibly affecting service at the customer end," states Simen K.Frostad, BRIDGE Technologies president.
"All operators can now pinpoint where exceptions in operations occur, and our middleware will be monitored in the same umbrella as all other services. This is a breakthrough in operator confidence building and will give our customers a real benefit from easier operations,"Bille Madsen, NORDIJA IPTV manager adds.
The FSM framework is an integral part in the software release v2.0. The software is a free upgrade for all existing VB20 and VB220 IP-Probe customers.
