NEWS/Software v1.5 for the IP-Probe and v2.0 for the VBC

(Oslo, Norway - September 1st, 2005)

BRIDGE Technologies is today proud to announce new features for its award winning VideoBRIDGE IP-Probes and the VBC Server software at the IBC2005 Convention in Amsterdam.

Since winning Broadcast Engineering’s Pick-Hit award at this year’s NAB2005 in Las Vegas, the BRIDGE Technologies development team have been hard at work to implement radical new features and functions in the VideoBRIDGE IP-Probes. The software release v1.5 is for both the VB10 and the VB100 series IP-Probes.

The most important introduction is full endorsement and support of MDI (Media Delivery Index). Since its introduction as an RFC to the IETF, BRIDGE Technologies has been a keen supporter of this industrial initiative and subsequently all aspects of the specification have been integrated in the VideoBRIDGE IP-Probes.

BRIDGE Technologies has taken the implementation to a whole new level. In a separate press-release BRIDGE Technologies has announced the implementation of an extension to the MDI called the MDI Media Window; a patented solution for viewing MDI data. The MDI Media Window is being shown for the first time at the IBC2005 Convention in the v1.5 release.

Other features in the v1.5 release are: PSI/SI table-analysis; full SNMP support giving 3rd party NMS compatibility; access control with login; extensive XML import/export of alarms, events and setup data -  giving the system versatility not found in any other IPTV measurement product.

BRIDGE Technologies will also show the VBC Server software v2.0 with a dramatically extended functionality. The VBC now features complete comparative display of measurement probes in a network, giving engineers and operators a fast way of detecting problem areas. With automated generation of daily, weekly and monthly PDF-based SLA reports, the VBC server will prove to be an invaluable asset to system operators and carriers alike.

More features for the complete product line can be seen at the show where BRIDGE Technologies is exhibiting on stand #8.511
